On to the Upper Peninsula

Ernest Hemingway’s parents bought a cottage near Petoskey and that served as a gateway to his hunting and fishing adventures as a young boy. One of his best stories is the “Two-Hearted River,” based on his exploits at the river of the same name. I’m spending the night in Sault Sainte Marie, where locks allow the passage of ships back and forth between Lakes Superior and Huron.
