Headed west from Sault Ste. Marie and drove for probably 50 minutes between stands of white pine, birch and beech trees before I saw a single car on the road; pretty awesome. Went to a beautiful state park, Tahquamenon Falls, one of the largest waterfalls east of the Mississippi. From there it was on to Munising and a cruise on Lake Superior to see the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. The cruise captain said you would need to take the 4 other Great Lakes + an additional 3 Lake Eries to equal the total volume of water in Lake Superior. Amazing stuff.

Painted rocks looks beautiful. Are you camping at all?

No camping so far; black flies are a little rough, unless you’re near the water.
